Pinecone Lake....
With the summer winding down Danielle and I decided to check out another gem in our back-yard. Pinecone Burke Provincial park is a pretty special place with a very remote feel even with it's proximity to Squamish. We met Ross, Zoe Alice and Otis Saturday morning and headed up the Mamquam main and the other maze of roads that lead to this alpine paradise.
Plenty of coastal old growth on route....
The weather was questionable on day 1.
High above November lake....
This glacier was surprisingly low at 1400m!
There was way more ice in the area than I expected.
The magical Pinecone Lake showed itself after four hours.
It was a tiring hike so Otis took a nap....
A few of us braved the icy waters....
Otis sported a $400 down jacket.
We took a more challenging route back to the trucks....
Meslillooet Mountain....
A different view of the Sky Pilot....
Judge Howay....
Elfin Lakes and Garibaldi....
Pilsner at Ross's place.... Cheers to Squamish.
