Thanksgiving in the Dickson range....

We decided to head into one of our favourite corners of the BC back-country for the Thanksgiving week-end. It's a place where many of our dreams in the winter months become a reality. It's a special transition time of year when the snow slowly takes over the boulder and talus fields and masks the heavily crevassed glaciers. The evenings are cold but the days slowly warm up to late summer temps.

Saturday we spent the day traveling and wandering around in the forest crossing creeks and chasing squirrels. After a few hours we found our motel and settled in with a top notch dinner and some pops.

We woke Sunday to a stellar day in the mountains and headed up valley....

Another view....

Another view....

Another view....

We got some great views of some of our favourite ski descents of the winter.

Juneau discovered another dog was barking at her in the valley. It turned out to be her echo but we didn't tell her.

We found the mouth of the glacier which was closing up tight for the winter.

Danielle admired the line of one of her most memorable descents from a couple of years ago.

Magical Alpinglow that evening....

Beverages....

The comforts of the cabin....

Monday we set off for another hike up valley followed by our journey out.... See you soon.
