A walk in the park....

This past Saturday I decided to go for a walk in the park with three lovely ladies from Squamish. It was a 40km walk from the Rubble Creek trailhead to the Elfin Lakes parking lot on Paul Ridge. The Garibaldi Neve Traverse is a classic spring ski that's a must if you call yourself a Sea to Sky local.

At the trailhead we decided rope, harnesses and glacier gear were not necessary because we had a sat phone and a guide with us. The tone was set! (This may or may not have happened but I don't recommend heading out on glaciers without the proper gear)

It turned out to be a beautiful day despite a slightly sketchy weather forecast....

The vistas on Garibaldi Lake are spectacular....

Sphinx Bay....

The Table from the north....

Our destination.... Sentinel Bay and the Sentinel Glacier....

And then we headed up....

Garibaldi's north face showed itself with some dramatic clouds....

Kathia hoped for a tailwind....

It was a hot day ands the girls forgot bikinis so they had to improvise. April is the time to start thinking about your summer tan!

G3's skin glue surprisingly enhances the strapless design....

Some women prefer High Traction and others more glide like the Scala provides....

On the east facing slopes of Garibaldi on the Neve we experienced some really cool clouds....

And sometimes we even got some turns in....

And after a full day out we rounded Round mountain and called the traverse a success....

Squamish livin is good livin.... Cheers to our amazing back-yard!
