Another meeting with the SunGod....

We set off early Sunday morning to make sure the SunGod had some good weather planned this Spring. True to it's name it delivered a stellar bluebird sky on the second day of Spring 2014.

We landed right below our intended target and all looked in order for a great day....

The tour up was scenic as usual.

We gained the ridge in a few hours in ideal travelling conditions....

Surprising no one had gotten after Ronayne yet!

1300m ascent in under 4 hours.... We were fortunate that we had such an easy entrance. This spot usually is home to a cornice the size of a two story building. It had fallen off only a few days earlier which also tested the line nicely with no results.

Dom and Brett dropped in....

Only Danielle and myself left....

One again the SunGod didn't disappoint!

Springtime in Pemberton!

Mt Shredibaldi...

The second day of spring 2014 delivered some of the best winter like conditions we'd experienced this season. I seriously questioned whether or not I'd make a Garibaldi summit this year only one month ago. The lack of snow left the Warren and North Pitt glaciers riddles with crevasses and non favourable shredding conditions. When we set off early Friday morning I had no idea if the situation had been worked out and the bergs were passable.

It's tough to beat the views of the Tantalus Range from Brohm Ridge.

After 30 minutes we deployed our glacier gear as we stepped onto the warren glacier.

I absolutely love the world of ice on this mountain....

Much to my surprise the North Pitt Glacier was well covered and most slots were bridged.

Garibaldi Provincial Park is spectacular!

Juicy looking approach....

The Northeast face's bergs looked good to go!

The boot-pack was elbow deep in -10deg temps but that meant this would be one of the best runs of the season....

I can't stop taking photos of Atwell!

Another Garibaldi summit! In true fashion the mountain was engulfed by clouds and it started puking 15 minutes after reaching the summit. This made the upper descent interesting to say the least.

After we got out of the steeps it obviously cleared up....

Home in 30 minutes....

Mmmmm Atwell!

Nieve profunda en Rio Roe....

It was one of those really wet week-ends in Squamish that made it difficult to imagine leaving the house. When we woke in the predawn hours Sunday morning, the rain and wind were coming down in full force. I gazed out the window trying to make out the snow-line in the Tantalus Range and it certainly looked high. Today's mission would most definitely involve a start in the rain but we set off anyway....

As expected the first 20 min on the machine was a wet ride but magically we emerged into the promise land of pow and pillows on Rio Roe....

We were greeted one again by the old giants of this spectacular valley....

This was Brett's first time on these slopes.... I think he approved.

Powwwwwww....

Another lap?

Another day in paradise!
