South Chilcotin September Summer Classic....

The season's first snow dusted the high peaks last week and the leaves began changing colour so it was time for a late summer South Chilcotin alpine traverse. Like clockwork I start dreaming about this place when the season transition takes place. The cool temps and the slightly damp hero dirt call out to me like a beacon I can't turn off until I've had my fix. The colours of the slopes and hills are feast for the eyes and resemble warm canvas paintings. This is the best time to ride bikes on these trails and always turn out to be the best rides of the year!

Featured on October Norco Bicycles news here....

I grabbed a 2016 Norco Range Carbon 7.1 to introduce into it's natural environment....

We started early and weaved our way up through the fall colours....

And after a couple of hours were in the shadow of the Chilcotin's painted hills....

Single-track spreads out in every direction in this place....

Dickson was still holding some dust from the snow last week....

This is where Single-track dreams come true....

High above North Cinnabar Creek....

I'm always mesmerized by the symmetry of these pine trees....

Mineral rich ridges....

Threading the needle....

This is the best view of Carpenter Lake and the Bridge River Valley....

Hello Tyaughton Lake....

After a solid 8 hours out we caught the last rays of the day and dropped into the 1300m descent....

Beverages and dinner were top notch back at camp....

We spend the evening watching a family of Beavers preparing for winter....

The next day we had another big ride on the best trails in the world.
